Luncheon Clubs

There are two Luncheon Clubs. One meets on Sundays and one on Wednesdays

“Eddie’s Lunch ” (formerly known as the “Wednesday Luncheon Club” * )
The “Eddie’s Lunch” interest group meets, normally at noon, once a month on the 1st Wednesday of the month unless this falls on the 1st or 2nd, in which case it meets on the 2nd Wednesday.  The venue, a pub chosen at the end of the previous meeting by the members present, is then booked by the leader.

As most venues find it harder to accommodate parties of more than 12, our current size, our group is deemed “full” at present. Please contact us if interested in joining, and we will add you to our waiting list.

Group members need to ‘sign up’ at the U3A monthly meeting (or within 2 days of the monthly meeting by phone to the group leader) so that we can confirm numbers with the following month’s venue.
* We re-named our interest group to “Eddie’s Lunch “ in memory of our dear founder and ex Vice Chair Eddie Burch

SUNDAY LUNCHEON CLUB:
The Sunday Lunch Group meets on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month at 12.05ish at licensed hostelries in and around Southwell. The group has a maximum membership of 12.   The Group does not meet at New Year or on Mother's Day, Easter Sunday, WhitSunday, Father's Day or in July, August or December.
Dates and venues are published to listed diners once or twice a month, usually by E-mail. Members are expected to attend on the scheduled dates unless they have pre-advised the Group Leader of their ‘apologies’.   From within the group there are several volunteer “arranger / hosts”  for each luncheon.
For occasions when there are “spare seats at the table” the Group Leader operates a ‘reserve’ list  which involves about six to eight U3A members invited on rotation at short notice (4-7 days).
There are currently vacancies for this group.
