Book Group

Book Group

We are a group of individuals who enjoy reading a wide range of material then having the opportunity to talk about and discuss what we have read.  We do this in a very democratic way,  taking turns to lead the group.

The group meets at 2.00 pm on the fourth Tuesday of the month at members’ homes in Southwell, Farnsfield or Fiskerton. Lift sharing can be arranged. There is time for refreshments and a chat as well as our book discussion, and new members are always welcome

Members normally source their own copies to allow us maximum flexibility in our choice of texts. We negotiate our programme by group agreement,  aiming to read from a different genre each month.  We plan to vary the format by including some 'Members' Choice' meetings and 'Book v Film' sessions.  We usually take turns to find out a little about the author and share this with the group before we discuss the book.
