Psychology Group Does the name Pavlov ring a bell? Did you know the brain is the only living thing that can study itself? and it can do this while processing an incredible amount of information from the environment around us. We are amazing! We all want to understand ourselves and other’s thoughts and behaviours. What makes us tick, how are we the same, how are we different, what makes us unique, how can we grow as people? If you are interested in the history and study of psychology, then this group is for you. The group will involve doing some research and presentation. We will also look at some of the issues which face us today. We’ll meet on the 14 January the second Tuesday afternoon of the month, from 2-4pm at Burgage Court Community room, Burgage Lane, Southwell. If you are interested contact me, Georgina Russell at [email protected]
iPad Art Group Just putting a feeler out about the possibility of starting a new group called iPad Art. Before recently moving to Southwell I was a member of an art group. During that time I introduced iPad Art to that group and led some workshops which seemed to go well. A u3a iPad Art Group would get together in a suitable location in Southwell (library or coffee shop). We would exchange ideas, techniques, methods for the benefit of all involved. I envisage the get-togethers would be for 2 hours maximum on a weekday morning once a month to start with. The sessions would not be taught but I will help where requested. Group members would be expected to have their own iPads or other tablets and a painting app and a stylus, preferably an iPad, ProCreate and Apple Pencil. An Inexpensive stylus would work. Contact me if you would like to know more. I am hoping to be at the next monthly meeting on 7th January so you can come and chat to me there.
