• Select the group that interests you from thelists displayed on this website, at the Monthly Meeting or in Newsline. • Ask the group leader for more information and to check whether there is a vacancy. The Group Leader's contact details can be found in the "Members' Area". If you are not a member, then contact us saying which group(s) you are interested in. • You can attend two meetings before deciding if you wish to join the group. If you decide not to continue attending, please inform the leader that you have decided to withdraw. • Once you have joined a group, please let the leader know if you cannot attend a meeting. Two consecutive non-attendances without apology may mean that you forfeit your place, particularly if this is one of the several groups with waiting lists. • If you need a lift to the group meeting, mention this to the group leader who may be able to arrange this for you.
Although most Interest Groups have completed their own "Risk Assessments", all groups ask that you as an individual make sure the Group Leader(s) are told and reminded of your own special risks, special needs or other requirements.
NOTE: If you decide to join any group, if you are not already a member, as a condition of the u3a and our public liability insurance you must then become a paid up member (full, joint or associate) of Southwell u3a. Exceptions:
If the group is designated as a "Niche Group" , then you must be a paid up member of any u3a (but do not need to become an associate of Southwell u3a)
If you are a carer, and attending a group solely in that capacity, caring for a paid up member, you do not need to be a member.
