If you would like to join the Southwell U3A (`su3a) you are very welcome to come to one of our Monthly Meetings as a visitor. We are restarting our monthly meetings from October 2021 following a closure period due to Covid. You can come to two meetings before deciding whether or not to join. Whilst you are there you can pick up an application form for membership, meet some group leaders and other members of the U3A and join if you wish.

The current membership fee is £20.00 annually, unless you are a fully paid up member of another U3A (please tell us which) in which case the annual fee for Southwell is £16.50.
What does your membership give you? 1.Subscriptions go a long way! They include the cost of insurance cover for activities undertaken by our members, room hire for SU3A Monthly Meetings & related speakers fees, some functions and five issues each year of the national U3A magazine ‘Third Age Matters’, which is published by the Third Age Trust and posted directly to members’ homes. It also allows you access to our many dozens of local interest groups* and the SU3A 'Newsline' - our monthly email newsletter - and support/advice from our vibrant and busy committee members. *Many interest groups are "free", and some charge a modest fee to cover their expenses.
2. From March 2022 membership will move to a fixed annual renewal date. Before this date you can still apply for membership but application fees will be proportionally reduced to gradually bring all members up to the March 2022 start date. You may still join any Group as soon as you apply and become a member. You will then receive a Renewal reminder in the weeks leading up to March 2022.
3. On payment you are given a membership card. Please carry this with you as you may be asked to show it as proof of membership when you attend a Group. Your name, address, telephone number, email and emergency contact number are recorded in the membership database, which is used only by Southwell U3A.
4. Members are encouraged to wear a name badge at meetings as this helps everyone to get to know one another more easily.
