To provide an opportunity to play a relaxed, informal, social game of bowls.
To introduce those who have never played bowls to the game.
Where and when: We play at Farnsfield Bowling Club (New Hill, Farnsfield, NG22 8JN) on Friday afternoons from 2pm to 4pm mid-April through to mid-September. The dates for 2025 are: Friday April 25th to Friday to Friday 19th September.
How the group works: For those who have never played before, there will be an introductory session for beginners on Friday 25th April 2025. We will arrange an individual session for any beginner not able to make that date. The group will provide an opportunity to practice playing bowls and to play a slightly competitive roll-up. The aim is to have fun playing the game, it is not all about winning! Teams will be picked from a hat. Members can borrow bowls from Farnsfield Bowling Club if they do not have their own. We charge £3 per session which goes to Farnsfield Bowling Club for the use of their green and equipment. Members of the group, who are also members of Farnsfield Bowling Club, pay a reduced fee of £2 per session. We are keen for more members to join us and assure you of a warm welcome.
Information about the group can be obtained from the group leader, Nadina Lincoln. My contact details are on the Group Leaders page. Non-u3a members, please read below.
