To provide a safe environment for members to enjoy cycling in the countryside.
As the name suggests, the emphasis is on enjoyment, not in great mileage or speed.
Where and when. We cycle fortnightly on Thursday mornings, meeting at 9.45 for a 10.00 start. The cycle routes are approximately 20 miles, using tracks and minor roads in the main, occasionally taking our bikes further afield to cycle in country parks or specific cycle route
How the group works. Group members are encouraged to plan routes and contact one of the leaders with the details as well as letting the rest of the group know the route. Each member lets the leader know whether they are joining the ride or not. Each ride has a planned refreshment stop. Each member is responsible for the safety and roadworthiness of their own bike and have the necessary puncture repair kit and or spare inner tube with them. Rides would be cancelled if the weather was very poor.cycling_for_fun._ra_docx.docx
Information about the next ride and date can be obtained from one of the leaders, Fiona Slatcher or David Johnson.
