This is a group newly opened in the Spring of 2024, but already up to almost twenty members! We meet on the first Wednesday of the month from 2.00 - 4.00 pm, at the back of the Hearty Goodfellow Pub on Church Street in Southwell. This is a self-help group and we learn about any topic of interest, with members taking it in turn to share their knowledge. Topics are therefore quite randomly selected, from any time and place, and we are finding this very enjoyable. Recent discussions have included whether or not Richard 3rd was a good or bad king, and Christmas traditions.
Our 2025 programme for the next few months is as follows: Jan No meeting February 5th History of cruising Brief fact about 1833 March 5th Lace making April 3rd History of Gardening May 7th History of Medicine June 4th Peter and Catherine the Great of Russia July 6th Ancient civilisations in North America
Last year's programme can be viewed by clicking here.
