Museums and Galleries Group brings together members who are interested in visiting art exhibitions, museum displays and related events as a small group. We meet quarterly to plan visits for the following 3 months. This is held on the 3rd Friday of every 3rd month - January, April, July and October in Southwell Library at 12 noon and generally lasts about one hour. Membership of the Group is currently £1 per annum to cover room hire costs. New members are very welcome. Members can put forward suggestions for forthcoming visits and if there is support for them we gauge the best date and means of transport. After the meeting members are emailed a calendar of events, containing details of these and the name and details of the coordinator for booking each one. It is up to members to select things of interest to them and book and pay any money due upfront to the relevant person. Attendance at the planning meetings is not compulsory, but it is hoped that people will endeavour to attend and be proactive in organising visits.
We aim to run at least one visit per month during the year.
