Become a better photographer!
Ever wanted to become a better photographer, but don’t know where to start? Our photography group can help!
Learn how to improve your images of family members, special occasions, your local area, holidays, wildlife, pets, or whatever takes your fancy on a day-to-day basis.
Whether you use a mobile phone, a top of the range SLR camera, or anything in between, you’ll be made most welcome. Learn how to get the best out of your device and take great images that you will treasure.
Get the most out of your hobby of photography by joining this exciting and fun group, which meets at the library on the second Tuesday of the month between 2pm and 4pm.
Note: We are currently up to capacity so have had to start a "waiting list" for anyone wishing to join

Every month we run a theme, such as ‘Street scenes’ or ‘Nature’ or ‘Selfies’ or ‘Food’ so members have a specific challenge to take amazing images. We review images at our monthly meetings. Look at our annual archives (below) to see some of our results.

We understand that photography doesn’t necessarily mean using cameras costing thousands of pounds. Most people take fantastic images using their mobile phones and we try our best to cater for everyone with an interest in learning how to get the best out of their devices and take, what we think, are great images to treasure.

At the moment we don’t cater for videos (using phones or action cameras) but we hope this may change soon.

We hold true to the aim of sharing our knowledge and experience so that all members can participate, when they can, with Photography. Several times a year we go out for a few hours to somewhere interesting and different to take photos together.

In 2022 we visited a Bluebell Glade, Southwell Town Centre for street-scene photography and an autumn visit to Sherwood Forest for the amazing colours.

We want to help you get the most out of your hobby of Photography. Join us and be part of an exciting and fun group. We meet once a month on the second Tuesday at Southwell Library between 2pm and 4pm. If you can’t make these meetings let us know of your interest and we can always invite you on one of our visits.
