This is another NEW GROUP from August 2023: With over 20 members already, we can confirm this group is now "live"! The Quiz Group meets from 2.00 to 3.30pm on the third Thursday of the month at the Hearty Goodfellow pub, Church Street, Southwell.
The Group splits into random teams who then compete against each other, the winners taking a share of the £1 per member 'entry' fee. We start promptly at 2pm.
Each month a member will prepare a quiz of their choice in any form they choose: questions; pictures; artifacts... We quiz for approximately one hour, leaving a little time to socialise - laugh and live!
We finish promptly at 3.30pm. If you would like to try us out or join formally please get in touch with the administrator, Lynne (see "Members' area" menu above).
Here's a sample of questions from our opening round....
1. Why was Mount Everest named after George Everest, born 1790? 2. Borborygmus is the medical term for what bodily function or condition? (Answers at the foot of this page, if you really need them!)
Here is a picture of some of our members concentrating really hard....
