Heard on Radio 4 this morning, 21st April, – Mark Tully‘s final ‘Something Understood’. He included some thoughts of T S Elliot which I found very relevant to U3A (although he only mentions men!).
Old Men – the Cycle of Life
It’s about not being bitter or angry about the things that did not happen in one’s life. Old men should be explorers, there are still new things to explore about old age and positively to embrace the things that are changing as we grow older. It’s something that, at 52, he is beginning to think about.
